Delete Your Jentry Account

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This page explains how to delete your Jentry account and what happens to your data when you do. Jentry is operated by Jaccountancy (UK) Ltd (company no. 12059528, Maling Exchange, Hoults Yard, Walker Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 2HL), registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZA532013. Full details of how we process personal data are in the Jentry Privacy Notice.

Delete your account in the app

You can delete your own account at any time, directly in the Jentry mobile app:

  1. Open the Jentry app and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile picture to open Settings.
  3. Choose Account, then Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Deletion takes effect straight away: you are signed out, your access ends, and you cannot sign back in. Your personal details — name, email address, profile photo and job title — are erased 30 days later.

Delete your account by email

If you no longer have the app installed, or prefer not to use it, email theteam@jaccountancy.co.uk from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will action the request on the same basis and timescale as an in-app deletion.

What is deleted, and what is kept

  • Deleted — your sign-in credentials immediately; your personal details (name, email address, profile photo, job title) after 30 days.
  • Kept — receipts, mileage records and documents you have already submitted remain in your practice's accounting records, because UK law requires accounting records to be kept for six years plus the current year. The erasure removes your personal details from them, so they are no longer identifiable to you as an individual. After the statutory period they are reviewed and securely deleted.

Requesting deletion of other data

You can also ask us to delete specific data without deleting your account — for example a document uploaded in error — by emailing theteam@jaccountancy.co.uk. We will delete anything the statutory retention rules do not require us to keep, and explain what must be retained and for how long where they do.

Deleting your account does not end your engagement with your accountancy practice; contact us separately if that is what you want.
